Mr. King was born in Barrington, Nova Scotia in 1944, grew up and was formally educated in the province. Subsequent post secondary education has included BusinessAdministration studies at Selsdon Park, U.K., along with marine cargo and vessel management courses developed by the Universities of Edinburgh and Tulane.
Mr. King has attained certificates of Quality and Customer Service Management from Philip Crosby & Associates of Winter Park, Florida, Business Management from Charles Smith and Associates, London, England, and Sales Administration accreditation from Tack International U.K., as well as a variety of other specific business credentialing related to disciplines inlcuding Career Map’s Maritime Security.
Mr. King joined ACL Canada Inc. (previously Canadian Overseas Shipping Ltd.) in Toronto in January of 1971 as a pricing analyst moving to a position in outside Sales shortly thereafter. At various stages of his career, he has held posts as ACL’s Ontario and Western Canada Sales Manager, National Sales Manager, Canadian Marketing Manager, and General Manager Atlantic Canada Region and has worked for extensive periods of time in Toronto, Montreal, and Halifax. Further postings have included assignments to internal international company focus groups throughout the organization involving strategic planning, cost efficiency, and project development.
Mr. King currently holds the position of Managing Director.

Calvin Whidden

Mr. Whidden has held various positions with the Halifax Employers Association for the past 30 years and has also served as a Director since 1995.
Mr. Whidden is a Professional Mechanical Engineer and was educated at Acadia University and Technical University of Nova Scotia. Mr. Whidden has been employed in the stevedoring industry in Halifax since 1980. He has held various positions in the local industry and has fulfilled duties for Ceres throughout the United States and overseas. Mr. Whidden is now a senior member of the PSA Halifax executive team.

Colin Conrad
Mr. Conrad is the President of FK Warren Ltd, and has been employed in the marine agency business for over 25 years. He has represented container lines, cruise lines and bulk / break bulk carriers calling Halifax and other major ports in Eastern Canada. Mr. Conrad has served on the Halifax Employers Association Board of Directors since 2015 and he is also a Director (Chair) of the Shipping Federation of Canada. He resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Mr. Steele has served on the Halifax Employers Association Board of Directors since March 2007.Before leaving New Zealand, Mr. Steele was employed with Shipping Line SofranaUnilines. Since 1986, he has worked in varying positions in Halifax for the following companies: Kerr Steamships; Hapag Lloyd (Canada) Inc.; and is currently operations manager for Logistec Stevedoring (Nova Scotia) Inc., a position he has held since 1998.
He is a member of the Halifax Shipping Associatioin and the Shipping Federation of Canada.
